Four generations. One living craft.
My name is Rachid. I am the fourth generation of a family of weavers from Tameslouht. I spent my childhood in the winding streets of the Marrakech medina, and it was my father who introduced me to our craft from an early age.
With more than 50 years of experience, my father passed on more than a technique: he gave me a connection to the work of the generations before us. Today, that family heritage is at the heart of Hand Moroccan.
My father and his team weave our textiles and check their quality before we begin turning them into pieces for the home. From curtains and bed covers to bath towels, the care starts with the fabric itself.
We also make chairs using traditional methods, dressed in fabric woven on traditional Moroccan looms. They bring together the craft of furniture making and the weaving tradition that runs through our family.
When you choose Hand Moroccan, you bring a piece of this continuing story into your home: the experience of a father, the work of a team, and a craft carried forward by a new generation.
A living craft. A shared future.
Today, I work with more than 160 women, most of whom are widowed or divorced, and over 40 men, all of whom support their families. Their skill, dedication, and care are at the heart of Hand Moroccan.
Here in our region, our brand’s role goes beyond creating beautiful handmade pieces. By providing work and keeping traditional skills alive, we help families with limited incomes build greater stability and look to the future with renewed hope.
When you choose Hand Moroccan, the benefit reaches far beyond our brand. Your purchase supports the people behind each piece and the families who depend on their work. It helps this community continue to thrive, creating opportunities and carrying our craft forward together.
